Connect YouTube to Jola

Your channel's videos, comments and daily views and watch time, plus change a video's title and description.

Owners and admins: in Jola, open Connectors, pick YouTube, and follow one of these.

Sign in with Google

1. Sign in with the Google account that owns the YouTube channel.
2. If Google asks which channel, pick the one to bring in. A brand channel shows up as its own choice.
3. Allow Jola to see your channel, videos, comments and analytics, and to change video titles and descriptions when you ask it to.

• You can take back Jola's access at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions, or by removing this connector.
• Until Google verifies Jola, only accounts added as test users can sign in, and Google shows an "unverified app" screen first: choose Advanced, then continue.
• YouTube gives Jola a daily allowance (10,000 units). Reading a channel costs very little, but each title or description change costs 50, so a big batch of changes can use up the day. It resets at midnight Pacific time.
• Jola doesn't upload videos. Until Jola's Google project passes YouTube's audit, anything uploaded through YouTube's API stays private, so this stays out until then.

What Jola brings in

You pick which of these on the connect screen.

• Videos: Every video the channel has uploaded, with views, likes and comments.
• Comments: What people wrote on the channel's videos in the last 30 days: who, what they said and on which video. YouTube limits how long these can be kept.
• Channel by day: Views, watch time, new subscribers, likes, comments and shares for each day.

What Jola can change

Only when someone asks, or through an automation an owner or admin turned on. Each change is logged.

• Change a video's title or description: Replaces the title, the description or both on one of the channel's videos. The old text is not kept, and the video stays as public or private as it was.

What it can't do

• Upload videos
• Change a video's privacy, thumbnail or tags
• Reply to or remove comments (Jola reads them)
• Revenue or ad earnings (needs a separate YouTube approval)
• Comments that viewers have held for review, or on videos with comments turned off
• Replies to comments (only each comment's reply count)
• Who exactly watched (YouTube only gives totals)
• Videos on other people's channels

Disconnect it in Jola

Open Connectors, pick YouTube, and choose Delete. Jola takes back its sign-in where YouTube allows it, and deletes the sign-in, every synced row and document, and the sync history. Seeds using it are shown first, and automations using it pause. Nothing in YouTube itself is deleted.

Remove Jola from YouTube

Open your Google Account's security settings, and remove Jola under third-party access. If a YouTube connection keeps failing for 30 days, Jola deletes its data by itself.
