Connect Microsoft 365 to Jola
Outlook mail, Calendar, OneDrive and Contacts, plus send email, add events and Excel rows.
Connect
Owners and admins: in Jola, open Connectors, pick Microsoft 365, and follow one of these.
Sign in with Microsoft
- Sign in with the Microsoft account to bring in (work, school or personal Outlook).
- Allow Jola to read mail, calendar, OneDrive and contacts, and to send email, add events and Excel rows you ask for.
- Some companies only let an administrator approve apps: if Microsoft says "Need admin approval", ask your Microsoft 365 admin to approve Jola once.
- Each person's mailbox and OneDrive is their own: connect the shared or company account, or set who can see this connector.
What Jola brings in
You pick which of these on the connect screen.
- Emails: Emails in the Inbox and Sent folders: who, subject, date, importance and a preview. Contents are read for search.
- Calendar events: Events on the main calendar from the history you choose to a year ahead: time, place, who's invited, cancellations.
- OneDrive files: Files in OneDrive: name, type, size, who changed it last and a link. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and text files are read for search.
- Contacts: Outlook contacts: names, emails, phones, companies and titles.
What Jola can change
Only when someone asks, or through an automation an owner or admin turned on. Each change is logged.
- Send an email: Sends a plain-text email from this Outlook account; it's kept in Sent.
- Draft an email: Saves an email in Outlook drafts for someone to check and send.
- Add a calendar event: Adds an event to the main calendar, and invites people if you list them.
- Add a row to an Excel table: Adds a row to the first table in an Excel file in OneDrive. Separate the cells with |.
What it can't do
- SharePoint sites and Teams files (OneDrive only for now)
- Teams chats and meetings
- PDF and image text
- Shared mailboxes and other people's calendars
- Attachments' contents
Disconnect it in Jola
Open Connectors, pick Microsoft 365, and choose Delete. Jola takes back its sign-in where Microsoft 365 allows it, and deletes the sign-in, every synced row and document, and the sync history. Seeds using it are shown first, and automations using it pause. Nothing in Microsoft 365 itself is deleted.
Remove Jola from Microsoft 365
Open My Apps at myapps.microsoft.com or your Microsoft account's app permissions, and remove Jola. A company admin can remove it under Enterprise applications.
