Connect Instagram to Jola
Your account's posts and comments, plus post a picture and reply to comments.
Connect
Owners and admins: in Jola, open Connectors, pick Instagram, and follow one of these.
Sign in with Instagram
- Sign in to Instagram with the professional account you want to bring in.
- Allow Jola to read your posts and comments, to post pictures, and to reply to comments and hide them.
- The account must be a professional one (Business or Creator). A personal account can't connect: in the Instagram app, open Settings and switch it to professional first. It's free.
- Instagram only takes pictures that are JPEG files at a public https link. No Facebook Page is needed.
- You can take Jola's access back any time in Instagram, under Settings, Apps and websites.
What Jola brings in
You pick which of these on the connect screen.
- Instagram posts: The account's posts, with likes and comment counts.
- Comments: What people write on the account's posts, and the replies under them: who, what they said, and on which post.
What Jola can change
Only when someone asks, or through an automation an owner or admin turned on. Each change is logged.
- Post a picture: Posts one picture with a caption to the Instagram account. The picture must be a JPEG at a public https link.
- Reply to a comment: Replies to a comment on one of the account's posts. The reply shows under the comment.
- Hide a comment: Hides a comment on one of the account's posts. You can show it again in Instagram.
What it can't do
- Videos, reels, stories and carousels (pictures only for now)
- Pictures that aren't JPEG files at a public https link
- Direct messages
- Insights such as reach and followers (next)
- Deleting posts or comments
- Personal accounts (Instagram only allows professional ones)
- Posts other accounts tagged you in
Disconnect it in Jola
Open Connectors, pick Instagram, and choose Delete. Jola takes back its sign-in where Instagram allows it, and deletes the sign-in, every synced row and document, and the sync history. Seeds using it are shown first, and automations using it pause. Nothing in Instagram itself is deleted.
Remove Jola from Instagram
On Instagram, open Settings, then Website permissions, then Apps and websites, and remove Jola. Instagram tells Jola, and the connection and its data are deleted.
